Ushering in spring under beautiful skies and the promise of wishes coming true, the 2019 Make-A-Wish®
Golf Outing at Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington was a day to remember! On Monday, May 20, participants took to the links at one of Rhode Island’s premier courses along picturesque Narragansett Bay. The tournament brought together top business and philanthropic leaders from the region to support the Make-A-Wish mission.
Following their time on the course, golfers enjoyed a cocktail reception and a dinner program emceed by Michelle Muscatello from WPRI-TV, who is a member of our Rhode Island Advisory Council. Wish mom Jenn Calcagni-O’Neill, our featured speaker, spoke about the impact of the Make-A-Wish mission on her family. The mom of two wish children, Nicholas and Makenzie, Jenn shared, “Make-A-Wish has made some really dark times in my family’s life so much brighter. It has allowed my children to experience a huge, life-changing memory for them to reflect upon and treasure always. It has enabled me to be fully present in these moments, not stressed. Make-A-Wish has impacted our emotional well-being in such a positive way.” The evening concluded with an inspiring show of generosity as tournament participants contributed enough through Fund-A-Wish to grant the wishes of three Rhode Island children!
We extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our generous supporters and in particular, to Eagle Sponsor Bill and Doris Loehning. We are also grateful to our tournament committee members, program participants, event volunteers, and in-kind donors, all of whom contributed to the event’s success. The Make-A-Wish Golf Outing raised $93,000, which will fulfill the wishes of nine Rhode Island children in the coming months!
