A LOOK BACK AT OUR 2018 EVENING OF WISHES DINNER
With over 300 attendees, our 2018 celebration of wishes in Rhode Island was our largest and most successful Evening of Wishes Dinner yet! Emceed by WPRI Channel 12 meteorologist Michelle Muscatello
, the event took place on November 17, 2018, at the Omni Providence Hotel in Providence. The event featured the stories of area wish recipients and their families and raised over $350,000, which will enable us to fulfill the wishes of 35 children with life-threatening illnesses in Rhode Island.
The memorable evening celebrated the power of a wish through speeches and video. Michelle Muscatello introduced the audience to wish recipients Evangelina
, whose wish took her to Hawaii; Anaija
, whose wish to go to Paris will soon be granted; and Nicholas
, who wished to meet his favorite characters at Universal Studios Orlando. Colin Nagle, 1993 wish recipien
t – and among the first wish recipients in Rhode Island – took to the stage with his parents, Joe and Jan Nagle
, to share how their experience as a wish family continues to inspire them to give back to our organization. Wish parent Erik Wright
described his son Colin’s
meaningful wish experience of meeting in person an online friend who was a great support while Colin underwent treatment for osteosarcoma. And Evangelina’s mother, Melina Hil
l, reflected on how her daughter’s wish helped Evangelina feel stronger and more confident. The evening also included a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, the opportunity to support wishes through Fund-A-Wish, and musical entertainment provided by Colin Nagle.
