Our annual celebration of wishes in Rhode Island drew 300 guests for an evening of stories and inspiration, with $287,000 raised to support wish children in Rhode Island.
Emceed by WPRI Channel 12 meteorologist Michelle Muscatello
, the event took place on November 16, 2019, at the Omni Providence Hotel
. The memorable evening opened with a vocal performance by 2012 wish recipient Morgan Dzicek
, who traveled to Nashville to write and record a song for her wish.
Wish parent Carol Alli told the story of her son Ethan’s wish to meet Tom Brady and shared, “The transformation we see in Ethan every day because of his wish is huge. He is more positive about life and more willing to try new things.” And two years after eight-year-old Evan received a custom log cabin playhouse, his mother Lynne Vaudry reflected, “His wish continues to give him joy and confidence. He no longer feels left out. We feel such immense joy witnessing how Evan’s wish builds his independence.”
In addition to speeches and Morgan’s performance, the evening also included a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, and additional opportunities to support wishes. Taken together, proceeds from the event will grant the wishes of 28 Rhode Island children in the coming months.
