Carter’s passion for animals and wildlife is a welcome hobby and distraction for him as he endures daily treatments for cystic fibrosis. On his wish this summer, Carter was thrilled to hear a special welcome announcement for him when he arrived at the Bronx Zoo, where he was also greeted with a bag full of gifts. He was amazed at the size of the zoo and enjoyed learning about the animals and posing for photos. Carter's trip to New York City with his family also included visits to Central Park, the Empire State Building, the American Museum of Natural History, Rockefeller Center, and FAO Schwartz.
“I would like to thank Make-A-Wish for giving Carter this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," says Carter's father, Thomas Rodriguez. "He had the time of his life on this trip. Everywhere we went, everyone made us feel like family.”
