Support Team Make-A-Wish in the Falmouth Road Race

New Balance Falmouth Road Race
On August 18, our team of runners will represent Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island in the 47th Annual New Balance Falmouth Road Race, a seven-mile run along Cape Cod. Each runner is working to raise at least $850 for wishes and you can help!

Michelle Alonardo

Michelle Alonardo

Michelle is a financial analyst at the United States Air Force. She will be running in honor of her aunt and people who are affected by cancer. Michelle's dad used to fundraise yearly for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and she wants to continue his legacy and raise money to better the lives of people with critical illnesses. This will be Michelle's first Falmouth Road Race.

Sarah Cappella

Sarah CappellaSarah interned with our special events team here at Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She will be running in honor of her dad, who passed away two years ago from prostate cancer and is her inspiration for supporting our organization. This is Sarah's first time running Falmouth.

Colin Dowd
Colin Dowd

Colin is a senior client account manager at Brown Brothers Harriman. Diagnosed with cancer when he was 17, he received a wish himself - a trip to Alaska! Since then, he has been determined to give back to Make-A-Wish. This is his second time participating in the race as a member of Team Make-A-Wish and he also serves on our Wine and Wishes planning committee. Colin will be running in honor of all future wish recipients.

Hillary Goodall

Hillary GoodallHillary is a client service representative at Mellon Investments. Throughout her life, she has been involved in numerous volunteer roles and fundraisers. With a promise to herself, Hillary will continue giving back to the community in any way, as much as she can. Hillary is looking forward to her first-ever Falmouth Road Race.

Dino Heras

Dino Heras

Dino is an Account Manager at Bullhorn Inc. He decided to run Falmouth as the first race of his life to support all of those who never give up on what they are passionate about. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing soccer, running, going to the beach, and cooking.

John Julio 

John Julio

John is a social worker at the Massachusetts Department of Child and Family Services. John runs for those who cannot. This is his third time running in the Falmouth Road Race on as a Team Make-A-Wish member. John will be running in support of his cousin, who received a wish four years ago and just celebrated his seventh birthday this year.

Julia Marquette

Julia Marquette

Julia is a nutrition dietetics graduate student at Simmons University in Boston. She first heard about Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island through a friend’s family whose child was granted a wish by the organization. Witnessing how much a wish can change a child’s life, Julia is happy to give back to Make-A-Wish and the community through her Falmouth Road Race run, which will be her third time in the race.

Loys Martin
Loys Martin

Loys is a QA engineer at Greene Rubber Co. She has run the Falmouth Road Race for the past 12 years and is a returning member of Team Make-A-Wish. This year, she runs in honor of her eldest granddaughter, who shows so much spirit and determination despite having epilepsy. Loys loves swimming, kayaking, paddling, boarding, and jogging at the weekend.

Ashley Goncalves and Gerard Mattaliano 

Ashley Goncalves and Gerard Mattaliano

Ashley is special events manager at Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and Gerard is an associate financial consultant at Charles Schwab. This will be the first race the couple has run together and their first time experiencing the Falmouth Road Race. Gerard shares that he has learned from Ashley that a wish can be very important for a child facing a life-threatening illness as it can forever change your outlook on life. Together, the couple is excited to do as much as they can to help more wish children.

Bridget McGillicudy

Bridget graduated from the University of Alabama last spring and is currently a financial analyst at PTC, Inc. In college, she was an active supporter of multiple charitable organizations and she looks forward to becoming an official Make-A-Wish volunteer in the future.

Hillary Muntz

Hillary Muntz

Hillary is special events coordinator at Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This is her first year running in the Falmouth Road Race. She will be running in support of our wish children, supporters, and Make-A-Wish colleagues who make this organization what it is today.

Brendan Pierce
Brendan PierceBrendan is a sales support specialist at Budderfly. He has followed Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island for years and as an athlete himself, holds a special place in his heart for wishes that involve meeting sports heroes. He's looking forward to running Falmouth with his sister, Octavia, and this will be his fourth time in the race.

Octavia Pierce
Octavia PierceOctavia is an assistant boutique producer at Rue Gilt Groupe. She is also an alumnus of Chi Omega, a national Make-A-Wish sponsor, through which she participated in numerous opportunities for volunteering and fundraising. For her fourth Falmouth Road Race, Octavia is running with her brother, Brendan, and does so in memory of her uncle who passed away from lung cancer.

Tony Sampaio
Tony  SampaioTony has been a Make-A-Wish volunteer for over 18 years. His daughter Julia’s wish was granted in 2001 when she was five and undergoing treatment for leukemia and Julia, now a nursing student, continues to inspire Tony . This is Tony’s third time running the Falmouth Road Race in honor of Julia, his father, and all the wish children he has met. Tony was also a member of our 2019 Boston Marathon team.
