The Make-A-Wish Foundation surprised a local teen on Friday. He is a tuba player and has been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. He says playing the tuba is therapy for his lungs. And on Friday his dream came true on a special stage, as he played with the Boston Pops.

Former New England Patriots player Matt Light and Fox25 news anchor and reporter Vanessa Welch emceed the event and energized the crowd with a live auction and raffle to help grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island raised $260,000 to grant wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses in Rhode Island at its fourth annual Evening of Wishes Dinner at the Omni Providence Hotel. More than 250 people attended the event, which featured the stories of area wish recipients and their families.
