David Ortiz swings a big stick, but he spoke softly with 8-year-old Obier Herrera from Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island at Fenway the other day. Herrera, a native of the Dominican Republic who lives in Fall River, was among a group of Make-A-Wish kids to tour the ballpark, watch batting practice, and hang out with Big Papi in the dugout.

With the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 5-year-old Miles Scott, aka Batkid, lived his dream of fighting crime on the mean streets of San Francisco. On Nov. 14, 2013, police escorted two Batmobiles – black Lamborghinis with Batman decals – as the Batkid and his superhero sidekick, Batman (E.J. Johnston), rescued a damsel in distress on a cable car track, nabbed the Riddler as he robbed a downtown bank and foiled the Penguin’s plot to kidnap the San Francisco Giants mascot, Lou Seal.

Framingham girl gets special wish granted from Make-A-Wish Foundation

My Fox Boston

Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island granted a local nine-year-old her wish on Thursday. Zue-Hailey Torres of Framingham wished for a puppy. Zue-Hailey has a brain tumor and said a Yorkie-poo would make her smile through hard times. FOX25 was there for the wonderful introduction at Logan Airport. Zue-Hailey named the puppy "Asher" because it means happy and blessed.
