Kate stands as tall as the Tucson Mountains behind her and surveys the desert scenery. The trying moments of the past year begin to fade as she embarks on a week of adventure at White Stallion Ranch for her wish!
A compassionate child who loves music, dancing, and animals, Kate was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor last year. Her treatment has included radiation, a clinical trial, and several experimental treatments.
Thankfully, Kate’s cancer diagnosis hasn’t tempered her memorable giggle, which fills the air as she meets Reno, a gentle brown horse who quickly becomes her favorite sidekick. The two take daily rides together and Kate helps to care for Reno, too.
The energetic six-year-old soaks in the atmosphere as she and her younger sister learn all about western life. Kate takes part in a show with a professional roper, and even manages to lasso a “cow” herself! It’s a week of unbridled joy as bright as an Arizona sunset for Kate and her family.
“We cherish the memories we made through Kate’s wish and the time we spent together in a beautiful setting,” say Kate’s parents, Abigail and Matthew. “Thank you to all who support this organization and make wishes come true!”
