In the stillness of the Alaskan night, Madison gazes at the spectacle above her. She is really here, bathing in the light of the Aurora Borealis. Madison’s cheeks reflect the glowing colors and she pauses to take in every detail, making enchanted memories to carry her through the tough times.
Visiting Alaska with her family for her wish transports Madison away from her cancer treatments and into the pages of her favorite books. She sees moose, guides reindeer through the Boreal Forest, and goes dogsledding with the friendliest of huskies. These adventures bring laughter and confidence back to Madison. And seeing the lights of Lady Aurora dancing in the night stirs magic in her heart.
"This trip gave us something to plan for, to look forward to, and now memories to hold onto in the darker times," says Madison's mom, Cheryl. "My daughter was able to feel free -- free from cancer and free from the stressors that go along with it. Madison's wish was the boost we all needed to get across the finish line. It was the adventure of a lifetime and we will be forever grateful to everyone who helped make it possible."
Madison's wish replenished hope for her and for her family, and she now has a new dream for the future: to live in Alaska!
