Floating on the lazy river, Francisco feels refreshed and exhilarated. Just 12 years old, Francisco has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a life-threatening heart condition that can cause chest pain, fainting, and even cardiac arrest. Thanks to his wish, he happily leaves the worries of his illness behind to soak and splash in the warm waters of Atlantis Resort.
Surveying the landscape of waterslides, wading pools, and vast ocean engulfing Atlantis, Francisco’s face breaks into a toothy grin. After visiting with the Atlantis Lagoon’s array of sea creatures, the family dons their own flippers to play at the resort’s renowned water park.
In the afternoons, when Francisco needs to rest, he heads to the Kids Club for some “kids only” cooking classes. With a longtime passion for creating culinary delights, Francisco gets a hands-on experience kneading, whisking, rolling, and of course tasting his own recipe.
For Francisco, this sunshine-filled getaway provides a carefree reminder of childhood joys. He returns home with priceless memories that will carry him through the challenges of his condition and always give him reason to smile!
