It was a slam dunk for wishes at Swish Night 2017 to benefit Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island. On April 1, over 250 guests gathered for an evening of championship college basketball at Longmeadow Country Club in Longmeadow, MA, raising more than $140,000 to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions in Western Massachusetts.
Swish Night guest speaker Celinez Jodoin shared her daughter Myalynn’s wish to go to Disneyland® which “helped her to remember there’s a bigger world out there…and that she should keep dreaming and working toward the future.”
Guests also enjoyed meeting wish children Ella, 8, who wished to go to Walt Disney World® Resort and Samantha, 13, who wished to go to Hawaii.
We are sincerely grateful to the Swish Night Committee, led by Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island board member James Foard, Jr. along with event co-chairs Arthur Grodd and former board member Philip T. Glynn, M.D., for their dedication to the success of this event and to our wish children and their families. Thanks also to our Swish Night sponsors, attendees, and volunteers for the outpouring of support for our mission. Seventeen hope-filled wishes will be funded through the event’s proceeds, enabling us to provide children like Myalynn, Ella, and Samantha with the uplifting and empowering experience of a wish come true!
