On March 24, over 250 guests gathered for Swish Night, an evening of championship college basketball at Springfield Country Club in West Springfield, MA. The event raised more than $132,000 to grant wishes for children with critical illnesses in Western Massachusetts.

Guests enjoyed meeting wish children Avery, 4, who wished for a swimming pool; Ella, 8, who wished to go to Walt Disney World® Resort; and Ryan, 7, who wished for a backyard football field. Avery’s mother, Becky McAvoy, shared that her daughter’s pool has “been a gift for the entire family” and Ryan’s father, Shawn, explained that the joy of Ryan’s wish continues today.

We are sincerely grateful to the Swish Night Committee, led by Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island board member James Foard, Jr. along with event co-chair Philip T. Glynn, MD, for their dedication to the success of this event and to our wish children and their families. Thanks also to our Swish Night sponsors, attendees, and volunteers for the outpouring of support for our mission. Sixteen hope-filled wishes will be fulfilled through the event’s proceeds, enabling us to provide children like Avery, Ella, and Ryan with the uplifting and empowering experience of a wish come true!
