On Giving Tuesday, November 29, PatientsLikeMe launched its “24 Days of Giving” campaign. Donate health data via its free online patient network in support of their contribution to Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island to help grant wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses -- up to $25,000 total!
Since it first launched in 2014, PatientsLikeMe members have donated nearly one million data points about their health during 24 Days of Giving, including 60,000 treatment reports, 218,000 symptom reports and 269,000 health outcomes reports. As a result, over the last two years, a total of $40,000 has been donated to Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Through these donations, four wishes have been granted to children in the Massachusetts-Rhode Island area.
PatientsLikeMe allows individuals to connect with others who have the same disease or condition and track and share their own experiences, including how people live with their condition, what their doctors are doing to treat it, and what it’s like to navigate their health journey.
The data is then de-identified and shared with healthcare partners to help bring the patient voice to medical research, develop better clinical trials, and create new products and services that are more in tune with what patients experience and need.
To be a part of this campaign and to help support wishes, help spread the word about “24 Days of Giving,” or if you are managing a chronic disease or illness, or are a caregiver for someone who does, create a profile or make an update to your existing profile on patientslikeme.com.
