Thanks to Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, an organization known for sending kids to Disney World and arranging celebrity meet-and-greets, today Xavier’s very simple dream came true.

It's been a brutal year for Michael Kirchdorfer. In May, the 6-year-old from Plymouth was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and now his tiny frame is being blitzed with radiation and chemotherapy. So it was a wonderful respite when Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island arranged to have Michael meet Tom Brady (above) and Rob Gronkowski at Gillette Stadium the other day.

Princesses on hand for girl's Make-A-Wish sendoff to Disney

A 4-year-old girl with a rare and advanced form of childhood cancer got a dream come true Friday - she's spending a week at Disney World, courtesy of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and American Airlines. On Friday at Logan Airport, Alisha Savage got a royal send-off worthy of a princess.

The Savage family arrived at Logan this morning in a limousine, escorted by a Quincy police motorcade.

Representatives from Make-A-Wish of Massachusetts and Rhode Island were there to greet Alisha in Boston.

It was a fairy tale come true at Boston's Logan Airport.

Several princesses including Snow White - all saying bon voyage to 4-year-old Alisha Savage, who'll spend a week at Walt Disney World courtesy of Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

"I can't put into words what Make-A-Wish has done to grant Alisha this wish," said Michelle Savage, Alisha's mom.

Alisha Savage, her sister and parents are the 7,000th wish recipients from Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Alisha’s wish, inspired by her love for princesses, kicked off the trip to Orlando, Florida with an early morning escort from the Quincy Police to Terminal B, where a crowd of hundreds of people greeted her.

A 4-year-old from Quincy was granted her wish Friday when she was dubbed a princess and flown to Walt Disney World by Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island and the American Airlines Something mAAgic Foundation.

Alisha Savage left for Orlando with her parents and grandparents in style, starting with a Quincy police motorcade and limousine ride to Logan Airport with princess Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen,” said Make-A-Wish spokeswoman Jordan Salvatoriello.

Quincy girl fighting rare disease will travel to Disney World

Four-year-old Alisha Savage has spent nearly two-thirds of her young life in and out of hospitals being treated for a rare brain tumor.

But on Friday, the little girl from Quincy is getting a much-needed break to immerse herself in a land of princesses, The Patriot Ledger reported Thursday.

Alisha, along with her mother, father and baby sister, will head to Disney World in Florida on a trip made possible by the nonprofit Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
