Nearly 250 attendees joined us for this inspiring evening, emceed by WPRI meteorologist Michelle Muscatello. The event, featuring the stories of area wish recipients and their families, raised over $235,000, to grant wishes for 29 children with life-threatening illnesses in Rhode Island.
The event celebrated our organization’s 30th anniversary, highlighting the enduring impact of a wish through video and speakers, including 1999 wish recipient Tim Nunes, who is now a wish granter (scroll down for video). Wish mom Lynne Vaudry shared the story of her son Evan’s wish for an accessible log cabin playhouse, and wish dad Michael Link reflected on his daughter Violet’s wish trip to Walt Disney World® Resort. The evening also included a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, and musical entertainment provided by Tim and his brother, Adam.
We are grateful to all of our sponsors and in particular, to our Presenting Sponsor Bill and Doris Loehning; our Strength Sponsors Delta Dental, The Donnelly Family Fund, Panasonic, and Shepherd Kaplan; and our Joy Sponsors Bentley Builders and Swarovski . To all of our donors, program participants, guests, event committee members, and volunteers, thank you for your support of the 2017 Make-A-Wish Evening of Wishes Dinner. Together, we’ll bring hope, strength, and joy to seriously ill children through the granting of their heartfelt wishes!
